Job Description:
Cardiology Specialists of Orange County is seeking a full-time interventional cardiologist to join our team of seven cardiovascular specialists, including three interventionalists and one electrophysiologist. We are looking for candidates who are currently completing their interventional cardiology fellowship or recent graduates. Structural training is a plus, with tremendous growth potential and support provided.
Practice Description:
We are a physician-owned private practice that has proudly served the community for nearly 40 years. We have three offices in the heart of Orange County, all conveniently within 20 minutes of each other. Our patient population reflects the surrounding diversity, prosperity, and rich culture, providing for strong and rewarding patient relationships. The inpatient work and hospital calls occur primarily at the two Hoag Hospital campuses in Newport Beach and Irvine, with a lesser presence at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange. These hospitals have robust interventional and structural heart programs that are consistently ranked among the top in California and nationwide.

Practice Highlights:
- State-of-the-art outpatient facilities with leading-edge technology and services, so you'll have the tools and resources to provide the highest level of patient care.
- Accredited outpatient cardiovascular diagnostics lab: echocardiography, in-house PET and SPECT imaging machines, and vascular imaging (both arterial and venous).Comprehensive cardiac rhythm monitoring includes extended Holter’s, MCOT, and event/telemetry monitoring.
- As extra care for patients, we offer home monitoring for blood pressure and weight, home monitoring for pacemakers and ICDs, and telemedicine and virtual visits with EHR integration.
- A dedicated office procedure room allows for ILR implants and venous ablation procedures.
- EHRs: eCW in the clinic and EPIC in the hospital
- A good mix of interventional and general cardiology
- Hospital service lines include cardiac CT FFR, cardiac MR and viability, and TEE.
- Strong CT surgery support and collegial Heart Team approach
- Hospital Cardiac Cath labs are the newest and most up-to-date in Orange County, providing complex PCI support, TAVR, Mitraclip, Watchman, and CardioMEMS.

Compensation Package:
- A three-year employment contract is offered with a competitive starting salary and a guaranteed raise in years two and three.
- Complete benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plans, CME, and paid vacation.
- Partnership track is available and will be offered at the end of three years if the candidate demonstrates team mentality and meets certain productivity criteria.
- Graduated partnership to full partnership over a four-year period with a small buy-in partitioned over these four years
Requirements
Job requirements and competencies:
- Board-certified (or eligible) in interventional cardiology.
- Able to work well in a collaborative group environment with the shared goal of providing superior care.
- Willing to work job duties from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday.
- Willing to take calls, roughly one in six weekdays and one in five weekends. Interventional back-up calls will be an additional 3 nights per month.
- Must be a team player and willing to help at different locations if the need arises. We rarely need to travel to more than two locations in a day and often remain at one site all day.
- Interventional competencies should include complex coronary and structural heart disease. A willingness to grow a burgeoning mitral clip and watchman program is crucial. Peripheral arterial training or experience is a bonus but not required.
- Optional for interventional candidates but valued: imaging training and/or experience in TEE, nuclear cardiology CBNC certification, and/or RPVI certification.
