The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TPMG - Kaiser Permanente Northern California) is one of the largest medical groups in the nation with over 9,500 physicians, 22 medical centers, numerous clinics throughout Northern and Central California and a 75-year tradition of providing quality medical care. Our Cardiology Departments currently have the following opportunities:



ADVANCED HEART FAILURE CARDIOLOGIST

Santa Clara, California

We are actively seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join the Center for Advanced Heart Failure at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, the primary hub for tertiary cardiac care providing the full spectrum of short-term and long-term support. We are a multidisciplinary team that includes 5 AHFT cardiologists, advanced practice providers, heart failure pharmacists, specialized heart failure nurses, a dedicated social worker and psychologist. We also share an advanced heart failure fellowship with Stanford University and provide the full spectrum of care for pre-and post-cardiac transplant patients for all patients within the Kaiser Permanente Northern California system.  Our cardiac group is a multi-specialty group that provides services in advanced cardiac imaging, complex coronary and structural heart interventions, adult congenital heart disease, and electrophysiology, in addition to advanced heart failure care.



The interested candidate has a unique opportunity to participate in ongoing program building, play a major role in expansion of our regional shock system, and be a part of a growing integrated health care system. Other opportunities include expansion and further development of sub-specialty cardiomyopathy clinics. This position will be 100% advanced heart failure and offers opportunity for career growth and for research.



Clinical Responsibilities:

These include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain an active advanced heart failure practice and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology board certification
  • Inpatient rounding on the advanced heart failure service at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center
  • Caring for patients with mechanical circulatory devices, ECMO, and pulmonary hypertension.
  • Opportunity to perform right heart catheterization and endomyocardial biopsy



Operational Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with service line leadership and appropriate committees for policy and program development
  • Act as liaison for cardiology team to obtain content expertise
  • Facilitate policy implementation and monitors compliance
  • Review quality data with AHFT Team monthly
  • Chair and facilitates assigned committees and conferences
  • Chair Advanced Heart Failure interdisciplinary workgroups for continuous quality improvement process
  • Participate in review of patient and system issues in collaboration with appropriate staff
  • Assist in development of action plans and follow up as required
  • Develops advanced heart failure outreach programs



Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to advancing outcome driven clinical initiatives, inclusive of supporting ECMO program and developing advanced heart failure inpatient service
  • Provide input in development, implementation and maintenance of the Advance Heart Failure Strategic Plan
  • Work with Practice Manager, Hospital Leadership, and Service Line leaders as needed to resolve operational or clinical support challenges



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Heart Failure fellowship
  • ABIM board eligibility or certification
  • Must be eligible to obtain a California medical license or be currently licensed to practice within California

Full-time annual salary range is $388,200 to $400,080 plus additional potential incentives up to $48,362* Reduced schedules with pro-rated compensation may be available. *Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.
